Who are we?
Mission Statement
Our mission at DEVYAG is simple: We believe in our young people! At DEVYAG, we empower the voices of young people in Devonport. Our mission is to inspire youth to take action, connect with their community, and create impactful change that truly reflects their needs and dreams.
What We’re All About
At DEVYAG, we give young people the chance to step up, speak out, and make a difference. We work with Council to tackle the issues that matter most to young people, creating real change and making Devonport an even better place to live!
Our Involvement So Far
Since its establishment, DEVYAG has worked closely with the Devonport City Council, Volunteering Tasmania Inc, and Libraries Tasmania on various policies, strategies, and initiatives. The group has also contributed to council-run community events, ensuring youth voices were included in local initiatives. DEVYAG members have attended the Tasmanian Youth Forum (TYF) to discuss important youth issues with other leaders and have organised their own events, such as Splendour by the Mersey and Music in the Square. Through these efforts, DEVYAG has promoted youth engagement and supported peers in making a positive impact in Devonport.
