Devonport welcomes visitors and campers to enjoy the scenery and attractions of our city and the surrounding North West Coast. The region offers a range of well‑appointed camping and caravan facilities.
Where You Can Camp
Council allows limited camping for fully self‑contained motorhomes only at the following locations:
- Girdlestone Park –John Street, East Devonport
- Horsehead Creek, Devonport Road, Quoiba
Camping in these areas is subject to permit and availability.
RV areas are first in, first served and are not guaranteed reservations.
Camping Permits
Permits are required for camping at the approved locations and can be obtained in the following ways.
EasyPark App
- Download the EasyPark mobile app
- Register your details and payment method
- Enter your parking area code (bay number)
- Pay the $10 per night camping fee
This option is recommended for late arrivals.
Important: Payment is made on arrival. The EasyPark app cannot be used to pre‑pay for a future date.
Please note there is a maxium of three nights stay.
Devonport Visitor Information Centre
Permits can also be obtained from the Devonport Visitor Information Centre, Rooke Street.
Opening hours:
- Weekdays: 9.00am – 5.00pm
- Saturdays: 9.00am – 2.00pm
For late arrivals, permits can be obtained via the EasyPark app or arranged by phone on (03) 6420 2900.

Pay on arrival at the Club
Camping By-law and Restrictions
To protect Devonport’s reserves, parks and gardens from damage and environmental harm, Council has a by‑law regulating camping activities.
For the purposes of the by‑law, “camping” includes:
- Tents
- Camper trailers
- Portable shelters
- Caravans
- Campervans, RVs and mobile homes
- Sleeping in the open or sleeping in a vehicle
Camping is not permitted in any Devonport reserves, parks or gardens (including car parks) between 10.00pm and 6.00am.
- Breaches of the by‑law may attract an infringement of five penalty units.
